The Olio Model One combines modern design with timeless style to help you manage your digital life. For Olio, a newcomer to the smartwatch world, it has made its first watch — the Olio Model One —not only look fabulous, but exceed the standards of luxury and function in a connected timepiece. My next challenge is that find pain point and create upgrade version of Olio model one gen 1.5.
Classic Meets Connected
The Olio Model One merges timeless design with modern connectivity, setting a high standard for smartwatches. For the Gen 1.5 upgrade, the focus shifts to enhancing usability, performance, and experience—while preserving the original’s refined elegance.
Design Opportunities & Recommendations
Bezel Thickness: Originally constrained by CNC machining, the bezel can be slimmed down using a split-part approach—resulting in a sleeker profile.
Wearability: Users found the watch too bulky for daily use. Reducing both visual and physical mass enhances comfort.
By addressing these issues and refining the design language, we set a clearer, more compelling direction for the next-generation model.

Structural Optimization with Elegant Detailing
A split-part construction reduced bezel size and overall thickness while allowing greater design flexibility. The debossed Olio pattern and transparent back panel for health data were crafted to ensure elegance from every angle.
Seamless Elegance in Side Profile
The side profile reveals a more refined, elegant silhouette. A seamless strap transition from the unibody enhances the design’s fluidity and sophistication.
Elevating Quality Through CMF Development
To elevate the product, we prioritized CMF refinement—opting for satin metal over glossy finishes to reduce glare and add visual depth. A satin leather strap brings authenticity, while perforated tech fabric enhances comfort for all-day wear.
